Agency (human, non-human, posthuman)

Agency denotes the ability of individuals or entities - be they human, non-human, or posthuman - to operate autonomously and make independent choices. Within the human scope, it highlights the capability of individuals to impact and shape their surroundings. Non-human agency extends this concept to animals, plants, or even inanimate objects, recognizing their ability to cause effects in the world. Posthuman agency expands further to include technological or artificial intelligences, suggesting that future entities may possess the ability to make decisions and impact their surroundings beyond traditional biological constraints.
